Stalking is fast becoming a national pastime and celebrity stalking is most assuredly bound to get the stalker some measure of notoriety and quite possibly media coverage. Especially if the object of your stalking is actress Nicole Kidman!

Now no one is immune to the fixation of a stalker, but being a newly single mother of two small children, a famous movie star and newly nominated for the Best Actress Oscar it can be especially scary.

Not unlike any mother out for a movie with her children, Ms. Kidman acknowledged a friendly “Hello” from a fan with a smile and a “Hello” back. What she didn’t realize was this fan had already had a previous restraining order granted to his last victim, Claudia Schiffer.

Matthew Hooker took Nicole Kidman’s innocent “Hello” as something more. He began coming by her residence to bring flowers and invite her out for “ice cream” with her children. Also he wanted to give Ms. Kidman the “opportunity” to be in his next film. (Hooker, has had no films made and as of this writing has been sleeping in his car).

Kidman’s bodyguard, Larry Allison, recognized that Hooker was a potential threat to Ms. Kidman and her children. But after 20+ years in law enforcement and over 14 years protecting celebrities, Mr. Allison knew that in the courts much more is needed to grant a restraining order than a few highly unusual contacts at Ms. Kidman’s residence.

A call to LAPD met with the expected response….. “We need more to go on”. Larry Allison then contacted us!

Mr. Allison contacted us with the details regarding Nicole Kidman and her stalker, Matthew Hooker. Once we had all the information we started to formulate a plan.

Most stalkers of this caliber are focused on the attention, which obviously (to us at least) means that this person has probably posted something on the web using their name. As it turns out Hooker had a website www.matthewhooker.com were he rants on about all sorts of topics…. such as his bid for President of the United States, his “relationship” with Nicole Kidman and his veiled threats against President Bush.

We informed Larry Allison about our findings and his reaction said it all. “Oh, my God… well at least I was on the right track”. We de-compiled and saved Hooker’s website. It was setup on CD Rom for presentation* and Mr. Allison presented our findings to LAPD.

After Mr. Allison’s meeting with LAPD he came by our office, opened the door and said “ DiskDetectives is AWESOME!” Mr. Allison further related that the LAPD Detective took one look at the information on the CD Rom and told him ‘You’ll get your restraining order now’. The Detective further explained that he would now need to contact his counterpart at the U.S. Secret Service due to the threat against President Bush.

About two weeks later while watching the news we saw that the restraining order against Matthew Hooker safeguarding Nicole Kidman and her children was granted.

  One purpose of de-compiling and saving Hooker’s website was for any possible litigation. The website was now saved as it appeared on that day and time with all the information, links and hidden code.
